Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson was born in Santa Barbara, California, USA, on 25th October 1984.
She is a singer, composer, producer and actress. She started studying music when she was 9 years old. At the age of 15, she studied Italian Opera in the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara.
In 2001, she signed a contract with Red Hill Records and launched her first album “Katy Hudson”.
Katy became famous in 2008 with the songs “I kissed a girl” and “Hot n’ cold”.
In 2010 she was one of the judges in American Idol TV programme. She launched her third album “Teenage Dream” with songs like “Firework” and “California Girls”.
In 2011 she won 2 Billboard Awards for best Hot 100 Artist and Best Digital Artist. In MTV Music Awards she won “best video” for “Firework”. She had 7 nominations for the Grammy Awards.
She sold 11 million albums and 81 million singles around the world. She has her own perfume company.
